In Search of Red-shanked Douc Langurs with A Wildlife Expert

Take a douc langur walk accompanied by our wildlife expert, who has years of experience in douc langur conservation. He will whisk you out on the beautiful paths of Son Tra Peninsula to observe the life of this rare species in its natural habitat. Under the dense foliage of over 4,000 ha of pristine forests, a remarkable number of 300 individuals of red-shanked douc langurs are living in the wild.

The red-shanked douc langur, or the Queen of the primates, is strikingly beautiful with its creamy golden face, white chin, and bright red which runs from its knees to ankles. First known in 1771, this primate is now on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, with approximately 3,000 individuals left, mainly found in Vietnam, Lao, and Cambodia.

Now that you know, it’s time to pack your bags and camera and get ready for a douc langur walk accompanied by our wildlife expert, who has years of experience in douc langur conservation. He will whisk you out on the beautiful paths of Son Tra Peninsula to observe the life of this rare species in its natural habitat. Under the dense foliage of over 4,000 ha of pristine forests, a remarkable number of 300 individuals of red-shanked douc langurs are living in this place. During the walk, you learn about the endangered primate and the ceaseless efforts that our expert and other conservationists have made to protect the endemic Indochina species from illegal hunting and deforestation. Red-shanked douc langurs tend to take center stage, but other creatures such as rhesus macaques, crab-eating mongoose, Pallas's squirrels, and many kinds of birds are just as thrilling to see.
