This morning, you will explore Wat Phou, a pre-Angkorian temple complex listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. On arrival at the base of the sacred Mount Phou Kao, you will walk along the ancient axis delimited by stone pillars, which leads to the first terrace. Here, you will see the ruined Khmer Hindu palaces adorned with fine sculptures. From there, antique stairs bordered by frangipani trees will climb up to a third temple with a unique structure dedicated to Lord Shiva. Your stroll will continue behind the temple, where you can see the natural spring and animal carvings directly on the stone, before stepping back down to the entrance.
