Your English-speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel In Tokyo and will accompany you to Hakone by public transportation & train. Once in Hakone, you will use the Hakone Free Pass to visit some of the area's most famous sights, including The Hakone Shrine, Mototsumiya and Lake Ashi, which was formed in the caldera of Mount Hakone after the volcano's last eruption 3000 years ago. You may also have time to include stops in the area's many museums, such as the POLA Museum of Art, the Okada Museum of Art, the Okada Museum of Art and the Hakone Open-Air museum.

This morning, you will make your own way by taxi to Hakone-Yumoto station for a short train ride to Odawara station, then board the high-speed train to Takayama. Upon arrival, you will take a taxi (own expense) to your hotel for to leave your luggage. Later on, you will make your own way to the meeting point for Mochi Making experience. During a 2-hour course, you will be making and tasting 5 kinds of mochi dishes made from scratch. Dinner at the hotel.

Depart from Takayama Station with a private English speaking guide on the Nohi bus to Shirakawago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover this village known for its 114 gassho-style thatched houses, with their steeply sloping roofs designed to withstand heavy snowfall. Later, you will take the Nohi bus again to Kanazawa. Check in your hotel then free to explore around. You can sample local dishes bursting with regional flavour (on your own account), particularly fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. The unique blend of warm and cold currents create the perfect conditions for a wide variety of fish and shellfish year-round, including the famed Kano crabs and sweet prawns.

Take a taxi to Kanazawa station for the train ride to Kyoto. Arriving in Kyoto, take a walk or taxi (on your own expense) to your hotel for check in. This late afternoon, enjoy an authentic traditional tea ceremony hosted by a real Kyoto geisha. First, you will be introduced to the unique geisha culture of Kyoto. Then a geisha or maiko will demonstrating the steps in tea ceremony and teach you how to prepare matcha. Lastly, the geisha/maiko will be giving a short performance for you.

Discover the hills of Higashiyama with a visit to Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, head to Arashiyama, one of Kyoto’s most picturesque areas. Take in the scenery from the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge, walk through the famous Bamboo Grove, and visit Tenryu-ji Temple, a UNESCO-listed Zen temple. Free to explore Arashiyama’s charming shopping streets before returning to your hotel.

Your guided journey begins at Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s "Three Most Scenic Views". Ride an open-air chairlift up to an observatory to see the famous 3.6-kilometer pine-covered sandbar stretching across Miyazu Bay. Afterward, you’ll head down to the coast for a refreshing cycling trip across the sandbar itself, pedaling under the shade of 8,000 ancient pine trees and stopping at hidden shrines and white-sand beaches along the way. In the afternoon,visit a tranquil village of Ine, often called the "Venice of Japan". You will explore the historic streets lined with over 230 Funaya (boathouses), board a sightseeing boat for a cruise around the bay. At the end of the day, we will get on the train to return to Kyoto for relaxation.
