You’re experiencing one of the best Thailand elephant tours in which you’ll get to know the sweetest and most intelligent creatures in the world. In 19 days of your elephant vacation Thailand, you’ll know how the elephant has shared a close relationship with Thai people and played an important role in Thai society for thousands of years. The trip will culminate with 6 nights at the Elephant Natural Park. With the help of elephant experts and mahouts, you’ll find out problems facing Thai elephants today, feed them, bathe them, do a variety of tasks concerned with elephant care, and experience the day-to-day life of the elephant in their natural habitat from up-close.
Our Thailand travel packages with elephants start from Bangkok with the most impressive temple visit, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai with unforgettable elephant experience, and finish in Phuket where you relax in a luxurious private pool village nestled in pristine nature and beach. No wonder, this is one of the most striking journeys in our Thailand tours.
Arrive in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and one of the most visited cities in the world. We will escort you to the immigration counter without a queue while our staff carrying your luggage at the luggage belt. You’ll meet an English speaking driver who will drive you to the hotel. Once you’ve had some time to settle into your elegant room, you can explore the city on your own or relax at the hotel for the rest of your day.
Begin the excursion today by visiting the Grand Palace. Located in the heart of Bangkok and on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the royal place was built in the 18th century when King Rama I moved to the capital city from Thornbury to Bangkok. We’ll see the most important places and the revered Emerald Buddha before continuing to Wat Pho, one of the oldest temples in Bangkok and famed for its 45-meter reclining Buddha that is covered in gold leaf. Appropriate clothing (no exposed shoulders or skin above the knee) is recommended as we visit the temple.
After breakfast, prepare for our flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, meet our private guide and head to the tranquil Rachamankha for hotel check-in. We’ll gather in the evening to go to Chiang Mai Night Bazaar - one of the most famous night markets in Thailand. There is an unlimited selection of souvenirs, food, and handicrafts offering on hundreds of stalls along the road. Once you’ve had a relaxed strolling and shopping, we’ll have dinner at a local restaurant. Get back to your hotel and be sure to get some rest tonight, because we’re hitting the road tomorrow to our most awaited adventure: Elephant tour Chiang Mai
This morning, we’ll set off for our Chiang Mai Elephant Nature Park tour. Though elephant sanctuaries can be found across Thailand, this park is a far cry from others. It’s like a haven and healing place for the Asian elephant, where they can roam free in the wild.
Every day in our Thailand elephant vacation will include preparing food for the elephants, feeding them, bathing together in the river, and seeing the delight they have. During the stay, we’ll see for ourselves the challenges facing elephant conservation in Thailand and the part that this project plays in the preservation of their herd. Other volunteering activities can include preparing the elephant bathing sites, cutting food from the plantations and helping with any maintenance tasks around the park. This is a great way to understand and enjoy all parts of the conservation mission, whilst enjoying a place tucked away from the beaten track.
Delicious Thai cuisine served on-site.
Every day at the Elephant Nature Park we have the same tasks as on Day 5. Our day starts with breakfast at 7:00 am and finishes with dinner at 6:00 pm. From close approaching, we learn about elephant families and how they make friends. We also find out how these magnificent creatures think, play, and react in their natural habitat.
After some days at the park, you’ll know why volunteer programs that we are providing are the best Chiang Mai Thailand elephant tours. Here, the elephants are just elephants instead of a logger or an entertainer roaming the street performing tricks to beg for food and money. Despite the fact that many of them were abused in the past, none of them show any signs of stress. They are free-roaming in the wild and playful swimming in the river at the place now they call Home.
During your volunteer week, you won’t just care for elephants. The park has hundreds of rescued dogs and cats that you’ll be happy to lend a hand for help. They’re all clean, well-fed, and healthy.
Every day, we meet volunteers and visitors from all over the world who want to make a difference to the elephant just like us. We’re fed with a large buffet lunch and dinner with many different dishes to choose and fall asleep to the sound of elephants calling.
Another day in our volunteer program and another good day in which we can help the animal that we love. Though many of our tasks are not directly with the elephants, they are usually around us and let us approach to make friends. When we’re not working, we can relax at the viewing platform where we can observe all of the elephants in the park.
Apart from our everyday tasks, we still have leisure time to enjoy social life as sipping a cup of cocktail in the bar on site, being with awesome volunteers at all ages, or exploring the nearby village to learn more about local life.
Enjoy the most of your day because it’s the last day you’re with the elephant. In the morning, we’ll walk with our elephants again to see them roaming in the open pasture then return the park to feed and bathe them the last time. After a week, we’ve known all the elephants so well that we can distinguish them by their shape and attitude.

After lunch, say goodbye to these highly intelligent and loving elephants. A private car will drive us back to the city center.
Leave early in the morning to visit the sacred mountain temple Wat Doi Suthep. It was built gorgeously in the 14th century when Chiang Mai was the center of Lanna Kingdom. Enjoy a unique blessing and witness the chanting monks- an awe-inspiring and exotic experience that goes some way in reflecting the significance of religion and monkhood in Thai society.
Back to the hotel for breakfast. After that, we continue to Wat Si Suphan - the Silver Temple. Built around 1500, the temple is completely covered by silver from the Buddha statues to roof and walls. Set off for a short drive to Wat Chedi Luang. This ancient temple was once the home of the Emerald Buddha that is now held in Bangkok's Wat Phra Kaew. Finish our morning with a walk through a local market where most of the produce has come straight from the farm.
This morning, we’ll head out to Chiang Rai for the next elephant experience in our elephant tour Thailand. We’ll stop on the way to visit Wat Rong Khun - the iconic temple in the north of Thailand. This intricate structure is a blend of ancient art and contemporary architecture undertaken by a local artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat.
After lunch at a local restaurant, get back in the car to drive to Anantara Golden Triangle. This elegant camp is perched on a ridge overlooking the border with Myanmar and Laos and at the convergence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers. Free to explore the resort in the rest of your day.
Being an award-winning elephant camp, Anantara Golden Triangle provides highly acclaimed Thailand vacation packages elephants for animal lovers. You can choose one between two one-of-a-kind elephant experiences:
ELEPHANT LEARNING EXPERIENCE: A great chance to ask an elephant expert all what you want to know about the elephant. Then take the opportunity to spend time with the rescued members: feeding them, taking photos, observing their behavior, and learning how they communicate.

Bring your passport and your adventurous spirit to explore three countries in one day. I have to admit it - I was a little apprehensive about using a foreign travel agent. After reading a glowing review in Travel & Leisure magazine, I decided to reach out to Exotic Voyages to discuss planning a two-week trip to Thailand in celebration of my 30th wedding anniversary. I could not have made a better decision. My initial concerns were quickly allayed when I requested and received from Ha Vy local references from her clients in the US. Each of those references proved to be happy and satisfied customers who were more than willing to share their experiences working with Exotic Voyages and specifically, Vy as their travel agent. I usually plan and book my own travel however, in this case, being a first-time visitor to Asia and in unfamiliar territory, I decided to use a professional travel agent and boy am I glad I did so. Vy was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her knowledge, attention to detail, and responsiveness far exceeded my expectations. We communicated via email, phone, and WhatsApp. WhatsApp was probably the easiest communication mechanism we used. Vy answered all of my questions (and there were many) quickly and professionally. She took care of everything and communicated with me before, during, and after the trip. Vy made sure we were happy throughout our adventure and that we got home safely - we were lucky to have just missed by two days the airport closure in Hong Kong which was our connection point back to NY. My initial guidance to Vy was as follows - I wanted unique local experiences coupled with five-star luxury boutique accommodations and personalized service. And, that is exactly what she delivered. We were taken care of from the moment we stepped off the airplane in Bangkok until the moment we left Koh Samui. We had a private air-conditioned van with driver and knowledgeable guides (thank you Nud and Aree) throughout our trip who ensured our safety, helped communicate with the locals, and made sure we had experiences "off the beaten path". Our trip started at the Anantara Golden Triangle Resort in Chiang Saen, Northern Thailand (border of Myanmar and Laos). This is a beautiful resort and elephant sanctuary and was probably the highlight of our trip. We walked with the elephants and learned from the mahouts who care for them. This was followed by wonderful massages in the spa. We also crossed the border into Myanmar where we visited local markets and temples and rode in tuk tuks. Lastly, we took a long boat up the Mekong River and stopped briefly in Laos. August is the rainy season in Thailand but in my opinion, it is a great time to visit as the weather is not so hot and there are fewer tourists. Rain showers did not prevent us from doing any of the activities and in fact, contributed to the romantic appeal of these exotic locales. Other stops along our journey included: Khum Lanna, Pai, Chiang Mai, and finally Koh Samui. Each boutique hotel was spectacular and the staff greeted us warmly. I can go on and on about how pleased we were with this trip but suffice it to say that Exotic Voyages is a first-class travel agency who provides real value to their clients. I highly recommend this fantastic company and specifically Ha Vy for all of your journeys to SE Asia. I have already forwarded my itinerary to many colleagues and friends and expect that they will be contacting Vy in the not too distant future. Finally, I anticipate returning to SE Asia (perhaps Vietnam and Cambodia) in the coming years and will certainly call on Vy once again.READ MORE

I’m so happy we booked our honeymoon with Exotic Voyages. Ha Vy was great to work with and she tailored the honeymoon package to match our needs and interests perfectly. As soon as we arrived in Thailand, there was someone waiting for us just outside the airplane with a sign and they helped us with everything. We never went anywhere without a guide helping us and everything was already paid for which made the trip so smooth and easy. All the activities were so much fun, especially Patara Elephant farm and snorkelling in Koh Tao :) Each day was a new adventure and we got to rest in the beautiful beaches of Koh Samui in the final two days. All the tour guides were awesome, especially Pong. We will remember our amazing trip for the rest of our lives :) I highly recommend booking your trip with Exotic Voyages, it’s so worth it.READ MORE
