At the Eastern most part of the country where Thailand meets Cambodia, lies the large and relatively unknown island of Koh Chang. The island is easily accessible now by a 40 minute flight from Bangkok to the mainland airport of Trat and a ferry ride to the island. The island is as yet mostly undeveloped, slow paced, quite mountainous, with 70% of it still covered in virgin rainforest, and it offers a variety of good beaches, hotels and resorts on its West coast. They call the beautiful island of Koh Chang a tropical marine national park, which is the best preserved holiday destination in Thailand. Koh Chang is one of Thailand's most sought-after holiday destinations thanks to its wide range of pristine white sandy beaches, lush and thick rain forests and abundance of wildlife and marine life, coral reefs, high mountain peaks, scenic grand waterfalls, a rich variety of cuisine and great nightlife. Motorbikes, jeeps and cars are available for hire if you wish to take a great journey along the coastal roads. The tropical island by night is just like an attractive woman with plenty of nice restaurants, live music bars and fantastic nightclubs.
