On arrival in Yogyakarta, you will be warmly welcomed by your private local guide and driven to Plataran Heritage Borobudur Hotel, a 19-minute walk from the iconic Borobudur Temple.

Setting out after breakfast to start your journey to the mystical land of Java. Your guide will take you to the vast and intricate temple complex where you will see the renowned Borobudur, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Dating back to the 8th century and spanning over 2,500 sqm, the world’s largest Buddhist temple boasts about 500 Buddha statues, 72 stupas, and more than 1,500 relief panels on the walls and balustrade. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will continue by a local horse cart to the peaceful village of Candirejo. Travel the village and meet people there to learn about Indonesian village life and if you like, play gamelan, a traditional musical instrument of the Javanese.

Today, you will be driven to Yogyakarta to explore the historical epicenter of Javanese art and culture. Visit the Sultan’s Palace and  the water temple Taman Sari. Leave the temple to Beringharjo Market, an excellent place to buy Indonesian crafts. 
After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to drive to the UNESCO-listed Prambanan Temple while meandering through temples featuring three main inner shrines dedicated to the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
 

In the morning, drive to Omah Sepeda as the meeting point of cycling tour. Wear your helmet, hop on a bike, and pedal from village to village. Pass by Plaosan Lor Temple, then go to the place where Emping (chips) are made, and see the process of making tofu. After lunch, you will have a batik-making class in the same area of the cycling tour. The evening is free at your leisure.

This morning, fly to Ujung Pandang. On arrival, a local guide will meet you and drive to Rammang Rammang, the world’s third-largest karst landscape. Take a scenic boat ride then continue with a walk through the beautiful village, caves, and mountains which were formed by limestone erosion over the ages.

From here, drive to Sengkang where you will stay overnight. Check-in and enjoy a delicious dinner.
 

This morning, you will visit a floating village on Lake Tempe. A small community of some 30 families make their homes on the lake for generations, in simple wooden floating stilt houses.

Cruise on a long-tail boat through the tall, slender trees rising out of the water and visit a floating house. Share a cup of tea with the house owner and try Pisang Goreng, local fried bananas. Tonight you’ll stay at Tongkonan house.

Get a closer look into the Torajan’s unique culture, you will see the hanging “tau-tau” effigies, a burial cave, a grave of the seven royal families in Suaya, and the hanging graves at Kete'-Kesu. 

In the afternoon, drive to the authentic village of Rantepao where you will check in your traditional Torajan house. Relax, enjoy the view, and meet the kind locals as your guide or the village cook prepares your traditional dinner.
 

After a delicious homemade breakfast, you’ll drive to Pana today. Continue your cultural exploration with a visit to an old stone grave, lunch in the forest or in the rice fields, and a trek through bamboo forests and cacao plantations. 

Your destination today is the remote, mountain village of Salu. Check-in your Tongkonan house and enjoy the gorgeous view of the paddy fields while your dinner will be prepared.
 

After breakfast, drive north through mountain villages to the most scenic region of Tana Toraja, visit the village of Lombok Parinding, the traditional villages of Panawa and Tinimbayo, and the megalithic stone site in Bori.

After lunch with a peaceful view of the rice paddies, continue your journey to Loko Mata for a trek before getting back to your car to drive to Rantepao where you’ll stay for a night.
 

This morning, fly to Denpasar. Arriving in Bali, a local guide will privately transfer you to Ubud where you’ll stay for the next 3 nights. Bali's cultural heart is world renowned for the growing arts scene, ethereal rice paddies, and mystical temples.

Depart in the morning to visit Batubulan for a spectacular Barong and Keris dance performance which represents the everlasting fight between good and evil. Visit the silversmith Celuk village, the wood carving Mas village, and an art gallery. Finish your day at Arma Museum to experience Bali’s unique cultural heritage from impressive art collections of Balinese, Indonesian and foreign artists. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Today discover Balinese cuisine at a cooking class in the Kemenuh village. You’ll try to cook some traditional dishes such as Sate Lilit, Sate Tusuk, Lawar, Pepesan Tum, and Gerangasem. At the end of this activity, you will be able to enjoy the dishes that you have cooked. 

In the afternoon, join the spiritual Melukat, an important cleansing ritual in Balinese culture. If you want, you will also join an “Open Chakra” and “Palm Reading” session. Dinner will be served at a local house. 
 

Your last stop in this legendary trip takes you to Bali’s south coast for three nights in Jimbaran. With golden sandy beaches and a wide range of restaurants, bars, and activities to choose from, Jimbaran is the perfect place for relaxation.

Free at leisure in the morning. In the afternoon, visit Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple. Perched on a 230-foot cliff, this holy temple offers spectacular views of the Indian Ocean below. Watch a Kecak dance performance as the dramatic glow of the sun blankets the horizon. 

Enjoy a relaxing end to your trip. Unwinding at your private pool or on the beach. You can also explore the destination on your own.

After breakfast, relax before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
