Setting out after breakfast to start your journey to the mystical land of Java. Your guide will take you to the vast and intricate temple complex where you will see the renowned Borobudur, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Dating back to the 8th century and spanning over 2,500 sqm, the world’s largest Buddhist temple boasts about 500 Buddha statues, 72 stupas, and more than 1,500 relief panels on the walls and balustrade. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will continue by a local horse cart to the peaceful village of Candirejo. Travel the village and meet people there to learn about Indonesian village life and if you like, play gamelan, a traditional musical instrument of the Javanese.

Today, you will be driven to Yogyakarta to explore the historical epicenter of Javanese art and culture. Visit the Sultan’s Palace and the water temple Taman Sari. Leave the temple to Beringharjo Market, an excellent place to buy Indonesian crafts.
After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to drive to the UNESCO-listed Prambanan Temple while meandering through temples featuring three main inner shrines dedicated to the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

In the morning, drive to Omah Sepeda as the meeting point of cycling tour. Wear your helmet, hop on a bike, and pedal from village to village. Pass by Plaosan Lor Temple, then go to the place where Emping (chips) are made, and see the process of making tofu. After lunch, you will have a batik-making class in the same area of the cycling tour. The evening is free at your leisure.

This morning, fly to Ujung Pandang. On arrival, a local guide will meet you and drive to Rammang Rammang, the world’s third-largest karst landscape. Take a scenic boat ride then continue with a walk through the beautiful village, caves, and mountains which were formed by limestone erosion over the ages.
From here, drive to Sengkang where you will stay overnight. Check-in and enjoy a delicious dinner.

This morning, you will visit a floating village on Lake Tempe. A small community of some 30 families make their homes on the lake for generations, in simple wooden floating stilt houses.
Cruise on a long-tail boat through the tall, slender trees rising out of the water and visit a floating house. Share a cup of tea with the house owner and try Pisang Goreng, local fried bananas. Tonight you’ll stay at Tongkonan house.

After a delicious homemade breakfast, you’ll drive to Pana today. Continue your cultural exploration with a visit to an old stone grave, lunch in the forest or in the rice fields, and a trek through bamboo forests and cacao plantations.
