Koh Phra Thong

Ko Phra Thong, or Golden Buddha Island, is an island in Khura Buri district, Phang Nga Province, southern Thailand in the Andaman Sea. It is only 60 km from the Surin Islands, Richelieu Rock, and only slightly further to the Similan Islands. Ko Phra Thong has an area of 88 km² with long sandy beaches, fringed palms, picturesque islands, vibrant coral reefs, and beautiful, clear water for snorkeling. Once you are here, you might think that time has forgotten this gorgeous island. Touring the island reveals a one-of-a-kind ecosystem home to several rare species of flora and fauna, a vast array of wildlife and unique ecological zones that make it an attractive destination for biodiversity.
