Chumphon

On the narrow Kra Isthmus of the Malay Peninsula to the south of Thailand lies the pristine province of Chumphon. Prestigious for coral reefs and a long coastline dotted with crystal blue beaches, Chumphon is one of the best choice to discover the beauty of southern beaches in Thailand.

From Chumphon, Phuket, Ranong and many stunning islands, including the tranquil Koh Tao are within easy reach. Therefore, this province is the start and the transit stop of some of the most signature island hoping tours in Thailand. Beautiful Hat Thung Wua Laen (Fast Running Cow Beach), 15km northeast of town and full of traveller amenities, is the most famous around the area.

In addition to a heaven for beach lovers, Chumphon has many to offer. In the south, the forested Phato district is home to the Phato Canal and the Heo Lom Waterfall. Muslim headscarves, which are carefully sculptured, are also a common sight here.
