8 Romantic Things To Do In Thailand For Your Honeymoon

19 Jan, 2018 | Travel Blog

Soft sand, beautiful sunsets, swaying palms, secluded beaches, Thailand has all the things you want for a tropical romantic honeymoon.

If you're looking for a romantic getaway or wondering how to treat your new spouse special, here are a few things to spark the romance:

1. Book a private table and cruise around Bangkok

Most travelers start and end their Thailand honeymoon vacation in Bangkok, which means this city has so many things to offer, especially for a couple. You can find numerous nice places for a romantic dinner here but nothing likes cruising down the Chao Phraya River.  A 2-hour tour leads you through some of the main landmarks of the city. You can choose to dine in an air-conditioned room or seating on the upper deck. Order a private table with candles, roses, and champagne, you will have the most romantic time ever. A nice river cruise starts from $50US for 2 hours. A luxury cruise will cost you from $70 for the same time as if you go to a 5* restaurant, but the experience you get is worth every penny. For a more intimate experience, you can book a private speedboat.

2. Have a romantic dinner

If you are looking for a romantic dinner in Bangkok, don't miss the Issaya Siamese Club. This charming Thai restaurant was transformed from a 100-year-old house, hidden in a small street near Rama IV Road. With a beautiful green garden, charming heritage house, authentic food, fine wines, private space, and attentive staff, Issaya Siamese provides a romantic mood and perfect place for duo dining. Another option is the Sala Rattanakosin restaurant, to be honest, it provides couples with one of the most romantic views in Bangkok.

Not many things more romantic than dining by candlelight

3. Pray for long-lasting love at the Shrine of Love

You are in Thailand, a country of mysterious beliefs, so why not take advantage of this opportunity to pray for long-lasting love? Bangkok has a shrine named Trimurti Shrine, just on Rajdamri Road, in front of Central World Mall. Known as the Shrine of Love, this sacred place is full of young people praying for their dream lovers or saving a broken heart. You will find the Love deity is a gold statue of a human body with two heads and four arms. The heads are one on top of the other, and the lower head has four faces.

To receive the blessing from the God Trimurti you must follow exactly this ritual:

  • - Go to the Trimurti Shrine at 9:30 am or 9:30 pm on Thursday.
  • - Prepare 9 red roses, 9 red incense sticks and 2 red candles (because you are a couple. Single only needs only one candle)
  • - Hold the red roses and red incense sticks in your hands, get down on your knees in front of the shrine and say the prayer which is written on a stone below.
  • - Offer the roses to the god and put the candle and incense sticks in the pot.

Because of this belief, the shrine is always crowded on Thursday. The size of the crowd peaks just before 9:30 pm and by 9:45 pm because that is when Trimurti descends from heaven to hear the prayers of his believers. It means you’ll have to wait for your turn. But isn’t this small thing to do for love?

4. Make your honeymoon dream come true with The Sarojin

A honeymoon is a lifetime experience so make it unique and special with The Sarojin Beach Resort in Phang Nga Bay. This luxury boutique beach resort has all sorts of romantic features: 11km stretch of private beach, white sand, romantic sunset, double day-bed and bath rim big enough to hold champagne glasses. But the best thing here is the Imagineering team, who will help to build up your dreams, create memories to keep forever. They will tailor-make activities just for 2: romantic dining experiences on the lantern-lit shore, an own private sand isle; private charters on the luxury yacht Lady Sarojin or personal jungle adventures complete with champagne. The limits are only your imagination.

5. Explore the marine life and lock your lips under the sea

Thanks to the blessing of Mother Earth, Thailand has a long coastline, numberless island, and crystal clear water which are great conditions for ending your honeymoon. It's time to relax after all of the explorations. Time for seafood tasting, sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and diving.

Although you can dive all over the country, Koh Samui names the perfect location. This island lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus, opens a door to a magical underwater world with large rocky seamounts, towering underwater pinnacles, vibrant reefs, and colorful tropical fishes. If you don't know how to dive, there are some resorts that provide diving instructions to teach you how to be safe under the water. Think about exploring the coral reefs and marine life and locking lips under the water

Spend 4 or 5 days on the beach at the end of your honeymoon trip.

6. Chill out at Phuket

Once you get to Thailand, there’s no reason for not discovering this wonderland - one of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in Thailand. This paradise has both tranquil beaches and buzzing party scenes. You can either lay on white sandy, palm-fringed beaches during the day or hop into a bar and get drinks, and dance together at night. But if you want to escape the crowd, many places in Phuket offer peace and relaxation. Wandering along the beautiful beaches, buying sarongs, eating barbecued chicken, getting to know the locals, or just simply chilling out, you choose what is perfect for both of you.

7. Delight in a couples cooking class

“The way to a man/woman’s heart is through his/her stomach”. And nowhere else in the world to learn to cook better than in Thailand. This country is considered a paradise for foodies so no surprise when it offers many cooking classes where you can learn from street food recipes to Royal cuisine. Book a class for the couple if you need privacy or join the daily group if you want to meet new friends from all over the world. You will have a lot of fun when struggling to remember all the names of Thai ingredients.

The best place to learn Thai recipes is Chiang Mai. They will teach you to make some authentic Lana cuisine. Ask our travel expert for the best cooking experience in Chiangmai.

8. Loosen your mind and soul with a couple-massage

The Thai massage is famous worldwide for its therapeutic benefit and calming the soul. Take your lovely one to a beautiful spa and request a relaxing couple massage. You can choose many types of massage from face to foot but it’s highly recommended a few hours of body massage with bath and aromatic oil. There are a private bath and steam room for only two of you. You can feel free and exotic when being naked dipping yourselves in hot water. Then they will take you to a treatment room where you two can relax and be pampered together. Do you think that you will get ready for a romantic night after?
