This 14-day Thailand guided tour will take you through Thai history through the country's most legendary lands, including the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, Sukhothai and Ayutthaya. You will immerse yourself in a glorious historical atmosphere, visit ancient ruins, and travel from the old capital of Thailand to the current capital, Bangkok, one of Asia's largest space centers. On the journey, you can also taste famous Thai street foods, visit floating markets, meet elephants and learn about the lives of monks in the country with the second largest number of Buddhists in the world.

DAY 1 Chiang Rai

Today's highlightsExplore the city of Chiang Rai by local tuk-tuk

Relax after your long-haul flight to Chiang Rai. In the evening, you’ll explore the charming city with a local tuk-tuk. Visit all the city landmarks such as the clock tower with its delightful light shows, the King Mengrai monument where locals come every day to make an offer, and the Chiang Rai night bazaar for shopping. Stop at a local restaurant for dinner.

DAY 2 Chiang Rai

Today's highlightsExplore tea planation at Doi Mae Salong and the infamous Golden Triangle

After a hearty breakfast, you will head to Doi Mae Salong, where much of Thailand’s finest tea and coffee produce can be found there. Afterwards, visit the infamous Golden Triangle, the point at which Thailand, Myanmar and Laos touch together and where the Mekong River meets the Ruak River, and a fascinating museum documents the history of the narcotics trade throughout the centuries.

DAY 3 Chiang Rai

Today's highlightsVisit Huay Pla Kang, Baan Dam and Wat Rong Khun

This morning, you'll visit Huay Pla Kang temple with its giant Kuan Im statue overlooking the rural landscape. Then make your way to Baan Dam or the "Black House'' - a spiritually inspired art project from the mind of Tawan Duchanee. Finally drive to the famous Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, one the most unique temple highlights in the north of Thailand with the jagged spikes design.

DAY 4 Chiang Mai

Today's highlightsExperience a unique blessing in Wat Umong temple

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Chiang Mai, the rose of northern Thailand, check in your hotel and relax. In the afternoon, visit Wat Umong, also known as The Tunnel Temple, the most unique temple in Chiang Mai founded at the end of the 13th century by King Mengrai, the founder of Chiang Mai. Here, witness a monk chanting and experience blessing in the quiet atmosphere.

DAY 5 Chiang Mai

Today's highlightsInteract with the rescued elephants at Elephant Nature Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

This morning, you’ll drive to visit Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai’s animal sanctuary. During your half-day visit, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the rescued elephants and touching stories, observe the elephants living in their natural habitat, see how they recover from their hurts in the past. Enjoy a healthy varied vegetarian buffet for lunch.

DAY 6 Chiang Mai

Today's highlightsJoin the alms giving ceremony at the foothill of Doi Suthep

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Get up early in the morning and drive to the foothills of Doi Suthep to join the morning alms giving ceremony. Then softly trek from a secret monastery to a cafe to relax with a serene view over Chiang Mai City. In the late afternoon, you’ll discover the local food on an iconic red Song Teaw at a night market in the old city and a cool drink at a small bar.

DAY 7 Sukhothai

Today's highlightsVisit the timeless legacy of Thai architecture and art

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

This morning, your guide will take you to Sukhothai, the first Thai kingdom. On the way, you’ll stop to visit Wat Phra That Lampang, the most beautiful wooden Lanna temple in Northern Thailand, and Si Satchanalai Historical Park, the timeless legacy of Thai architecture and art. Meander through temple ruins which dated back more than 700 years old such as Wat Chang Long, Wat Chedi Chet Thaew, and Wat Nang Phaya. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

DAY 8 Sukhothai

Today's highlightsExplore the UNESCO World Heritage City

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Cycling through the ancient Sukhothai is an enjoyable way to explore the UNESCO World Heritage City. Visit ancient ruins from the Sukhothai Kingdom that date to the 14th century, incredible wall paintings, intricately carved elephants, Buddha images, and towering stupas. Apart from being a historical site, Sukhothai itself is a quiet rural city where you can enjoy the rustic lifestyle while winding on your bikes. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. 

DAY 9 Ayutthaya

Today's highlightsMake your own Buddhist amulet

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

This morning, you will go to a local house to meet the owner, a local history expert. You will also have the opportunity to make your own Buddhist amulet to take home as your own unique lucky charm. Lunch will be a simple but tasty local dish of “Sukhothai noodles”. Later, we drive to Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand. Arrive at Ayutthaya late afternoon and free at leisure.

DAY 10 Ayutthaya

Today's highlightsExplore Ayutthaya on a cycling tour

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Explore Ayutthaya on an interesting self-guided cycling tour. Make your way to some of the most impressive temple ruins of the UNESCO-protected Ayutthaya Historical Park. You’ll ride on small paths and quiet streets and pass along the area’s most-known and lesser-known attractions. Then, cycle along the banks of the Chao Phraya to the area where the first residents set up their community.

DAY 11 Kanchanaburi

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, you’ll explore more historical sites in Ayutthaya before taking a road trip to Kanchanaburi. Upon arrival, a leisurely boat ride will take you to the fabulous Float House River Kwai Resort where you’ll stay for two nights. Enjoy dinner and a traditional Mon Dance at the resort.

DAY 12 Kanchanaburi

Today's highlightsLearn Thais history at Death Railway Museum

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, spot the second world's famous Bridge over River Khwae, timelessly immortalized in history and the subject of the famous film. Continue to learn about the distressing series of events that marked the history of the region at Death Railway Museum. Finally take a stunning train ride on the Death Railway, spectacularly snaking along on a solid wooden support system. Dinner at the resort is included.

DAY 13 Bangkok

Today's highlightsVisit the Floating market, the Grand Palace

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Leave hotel to visit the Floating market, take the paddle boat to explore Klong the canal and taste of some fruits they sell on Boat in Damneonsaduak. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant on the way to Bangkok. Afterwards head to visit the Grand Palace, an important and impressive royal palace in Thailand which has the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. Then enjoy a 1 hour foot massage at Wat Pho before transferring back to your hotel in Bangkok. 

DAY 14 Bangkok

Today, you'll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
