Jebel Akhdar, meaning Green Mountain, refers to the northern section of the Hajar mountains 150 Kms from Muscat City. It's an area that encompasses Saiq Plateau, at 2000m above sea level. The area is famous for its traditional rose water extraction and agricultural products including pomegranates, walnuts, apricots, black grapes and peaches. The stunning view Wadi Ghul, Oman’s Grand Canyon, from the summit is what most travelers seek in Jebel Akhdar.
