Hue

Hue is a charming city in the center of Vietnam, this was the imperial capital of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945, and as the home to 13 emperors. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers insights into the world of royalty. The most famous site on the Perfume River is the Imperial Citadel, once the emperors’  forbidden city where visitors can now view a complex of temples, pavilions, moats, gates, shops, museums and galleries featuring art and costumes. The city has been undergoing renovation for 20 years but still has a way to go. Among the other notable monuments are the tombs of several emperors and the Thien Mu Pagoda. Hue is also famous for its exquisite, intricate royal cuisine and delicate traditional cakes. Hue city offers a unique sense of serenity and leisure.
