Trip Overview

Let’s get on and begin your own driving experience from coast to coast of the country to visit the most amazing spots in Muscat, Sohar, Bahla, Wahiba Sands, Ras Al Jinz. Don’t forget to lower the window and breathe in the fresh air of the coastlines amidst the rushing look of urban landscapes along the way.


You will be picked up by the driver to go and check in hotel upon your arrival at the airport.

After breakfast, you will be given your rental car to start off your road trip around Muscat. There is plenty to stop by along the way such as the Grand Mosque, Natural History Museum, Muttrah Souq and Corniche, Qurum Beach & embassies area and more. The opening hours of these places are closely noted in the detailed itinerary.

Day 3

Proceed to your self-driving trip to visit Barka town and fish market, Nakhal village and Nakhal Fort, Al Hazm Fort. You can relax at the famous Ain Thowara hot springs and the one at Rustaq village near Sohar.

Day 4

You drive from Sohar, via Ibri to Bahla. On the way don’t forget to drop by Sohar Fort, Beehive graves in Bat, Ibri town, Bahla village and Bahla Fort.

Day 5

From Bahla to Nizwa, you explore Jabrreen Fort, Nizwa Fort, Tanuf village, Nizwa Souq. Every Friday morning the popular cattle market is held in Nizwa. If you are interested, make sure you arrive there before 09:00 AM.

Day 6

Explore the area around Nizwa by car coming to Al Hamra and Misfah villages, Jebel Shams, Grand Canyon, Birkat Al Mauz village and Jebel Akhdar region.

Today you leave Nizwa to go and get the experience with one of the largest desert in Oman- Wahiba Sands. On the way driving, you may want to visit Ibra village and Ibra Souq. Every Wednesday morning, there will the ‘Women market’ in this area where only women are allowed to enter to sell or buy quite a range of ladies goods.

Your destination is the coastal village of Ras Al Jinz after you visit Sur-the birthplace of Sinbad the Sailor.

On your rental car, you’ll go through the glorious coastal road from Ras Al Jinz to Muscat. Interesting stops en route include Wadi Tiwi, Fins Beach, Bimah Sinkhole, and Wadi Shab.

Find your suitable time to depart from the hotel to the airport and take a flight back home.
