In April/May of 2016 the cast and crew explored the beauty of Vietnam, filming in Quang Binh, Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh mainly. These exotic destinations are known for their wilderness in spectacular scenery and the world's most wondrous natural structures. Let’s check them out!
As expected to present on the Hollywood big screen, Van Long Westland, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and Tam Coc – Bich Dong are the highlights of Ninh Binh provinces.

In Quang Ninh Province they found Halong Bay. This is one of the most wondrous locations in the world, with over 3,000 limestone islands and crystal clear waters, it’s a beautiful backdrop, especially for a film.

Quang Binh province has received the most praises from the production team and it’s also the most filmed destination out of the three. The production team visited and had their best play in Da Deo Pass, Cha Noi Valley, Yen Phu Lake and in front of Tu Lan Cave, but they did not enter the caves.

I sincerely believe that our film will have a positive impact on tourism, filming, and a general understanding of how stunning and beautiful the country is. My experience with the country has been life-changing for me. I hope to spend much more time in Vietnam in my life and hopefully, our movie will serve as a gateway for audiences, worldwide.”

Hollywood icon Samuel L. Jackson told the Southeast Asia Global at an interview that of all the fantastical locations he has worked in over his 40-year career, Vietnam is his favourite. “It’s beautiful. Wow. It’s a fascinating place to be – very spiritual. Even if you don’t believe in certain things, you feel things when you’re there. You kind of see them, and you watch the people,” he shared.
