A day trekking to Leshan Giant Buddha is a typical tour in Seachuan province. Be picked up from your hotel in Chengdu at 8.00 am and drive along ChengLe expressway for 2.5 hours to Leshan, about 162 km from Chengdu. You can enjoy rural views of the west Sichuan Plain along way. Arrive in Leshan at noon. After lunch, you will take a boat trip to have a spectacular view of the biggest carved Buddha statue in the world. The landscapes of Leshan Giant Buddha and the Sleeping Buddha can be viewed from afar during the cruise. The sightseeing lasts about 40 minutes. After that, you will trek up the mountain to the ancient temple of Linyun Monastery, then the Buddha's head, walk down to the Buddha's Foot along the anfractuous plank road constructed during Tang Dynasty. You then grasp the meaning of the famous Chinese proverb Never burn incense when all is well, but embrace Buddha's feet when in distress. Walk from the foot to the head by Lingyun plank road. The whole visit session lasts for 3 hours. At 5.00 pm, come back to your hotel.
