People said that the boat of Nguyen Mong (China) leaded by Truong Van Ho to invade Vietnam was burned and drifted on shore by Tran Khanh Du and people in the reign of Tran. Because of a number of burned boats, the northeast wind blew the fire in the west of Cua Luc. This caused the forest to be burned and then became Bai Chay.
